“As a leader in the digital, social and mobile landscape, Elly Deutch has provided her expertise to a diverse array of companies and brands – both large and small – on how to effectively create and execute fully integrated digital marketing strategies to help grow your business. Over the last nine years in the digital space, Elly has created, executed, and managed social media communities for over 350 companies, athletes and brands. In her current role at McDonald’s, Elly creates and oversees all social media campaign, engagement and advocacy efforts for the brand worldwide.
President, Krile Communications
Angela Krile, president of Krile Communications, has nearly 20 years of experience in helping to develop and implement strategic communications effort for organizations that range from small non-profit organizations to large, international corporations.
Her career has taken her backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show; behind the scenes at Cirque du Soleil; to meetings with CEOs of Fortune 500 corporations; and inside the offices of local, state and national lawmakers. Angela has a keen understanding of effectively harnessing both the small-town grapevine and the power of big-city “PR,” allowing her to help any size organization communicate to any size audience to meet their communications objectives.
A native of Sugar Grove, Ohio, Angela received her degree at the prestigious E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and has served on Ohio University’s National Alumni Board. She is a member of the Fairfield Medical Center Board of Directors and serves as a board member of Fairfield County College Bound, Fairfield County Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Lancaster Rotary, the Fairfield County 4-H Endowment Committee, the Ohio University-Lancaster/Pickerington Center Coordinating Council and Promise Campaign Committee and the Lancaster-Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. She was named the chamber’s 2013 Young Professional of the Year.
Ms. Krile was named to the 2006 class of Business First’s “Forty Under 40,” is a member of the Leadership Columbus class of 2006 and the Public Relations Society of America, and serves as a volunteer with numerous community organizations. She has been a featured speaker on communications issues with numerous business organizations, Iowa State University, Ohio University, Capital University and The Ohio State University.

M.J. Clark has worked in the communication field for more than 25 years. She has a master’s degree in organizational communication from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Ohio University. She was a visiting professor of public relations at Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism in 2006 and 2007, and she has won national and local awards for teaching and mentoring students. She currently serves as the professional adviser for ImPRessions, Ohio University’s award-winning, PRSSA Nationally Affiliated student-run firm.
M.J. owns a communication consulting business, M.J. Clark Communications, which focuses on public relations, marketing and advertising. In addition, she is a leadership consultant for Integrated Leadership Systems, a Westerville-based leadership consulting company. M.J. was the 2005 President of the Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America, is Accredited in Public Relations and currently serves as the Ethics Officer on the Central Ohio PRSA Board.

Frank E. Deaner served as executive director of The Ohio Newspaper Association from November 1990 until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2010. ONA is the trade association representing more than 200 daily and weekly newspapers in Ohio and an additional 150 newspaper Websites. Mr. Deaner was previously vice president of the Ohio Electric Utility Institute which he had joined in 1982.
At ONA, Mr. Deaner’ responsibilities included oversight of Ohio Newspaper Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary that sells newspaper advertising as “AdOhio”, and The Ohio Newspapers Foundation. He served as secretary to the ONA board of trustees and president of The Ohio Coalition for Open Government, a freedom of information coalition that monitors public access to government. Mr. Deaner was also the registered lobbyist for ONA and a spokesman for the newspaper business.
From 1979 to 1982, Mr. Deaner was news coordinator at WBNS-TV, Columbus. His fifteen years of experience as a broadcast executive included news, sales promotion and public relations positions with television & radio stations in Cincinnati, OH; Lexington, KY; South Bend, IN; and Zanesville, OH.
A native of Hershey, PA, Mr. Deaner received his B.S. degree in journalism (summa cum laude) from Ohio University in 1967. He holds a M.S. degree from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. In 2005, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. He currently serves on the professional advisory board of the Scripps School of Journalism. In 2008, he established the Deaner Journalism Scholarship, which is presented annually to a deserving student chosen by the faculty of the Scripps School.
An accredited (APR) member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Mr. Deaner is a former board member of the Central Ohio chapter and, in 1989 received the chapter’s Distinguished Practitioner of the Year Award. He has served as senior adviser to the Ohio University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) for more than 20 years.
A frequent lecturer on media relations, journalism and free press issues, Mr. Deaner has been a member of government-sponsored delegations to the Baltic region and Taiwan. He previously served on the board of the Central Ohio chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), and received that group’s First Amendment Award in 1997.
Mr. Deaner’s previous service also includes the Student Access & Success Coordinating Council of Ohio (SASCCO), an advisory group to the Ohio Board of Regents; the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Foundation board of trustees; and president of the board of the Ohio Literacy Network. He is a member of the Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE).

Devin Hughes is an account manager and communications strategist working out of the Cleveland office of Global Prairie, a global marketing firm. He has an extensive background in media relations, and at Global Prairie is deeply involved with the company’s social media and data analytics efforts, uncovering insights that can inform marketing strategy for his clients.
Hughes has been in the agency sector since graduating from Ohio University in 2011 with a degree in public relations. He took a post-graduate internship at Fleishman-Hillard upon graduation, eventually working full-time for Landau Public Relations / The Adcom Group. His work has spanned both B2B and B2C clients, with a particular emphasis in life sciences.
Hughes was a member of PRSSA and ImPRessions all four of his years at the Ohio University, ultimately serving as CEO of ImPRessions, as well as sitting on the PRSSA executive board for two years. In 2011, he was honored with an Award of Excellence for “Outstanding Graduate” from Central Ohio PRSA, as well as the “Outstanding PR Graduate” award from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Rebecca Odell is the communications coordinator for Big Red Rooster: a Columbus, Ohio-based multidimensional brand experience firm. In her position, Odell assists the firm’s media relations, marketing, internal communications and social media functions.
Prior to joining Big Red Rooster, Odell held positions at the Ohio Department of Development and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The 2010 Kent State University public relations graduate is a Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) member, and she was actively involved in the Kent State Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter.
In her free time, she loves chatting about digital media, decorating her apartment, enjoying Columbus’ restaurant scene and drinking too much coffee.

Zach Wright graduated from the University of Kansas in 2009, with a BA in Communication and minor in Business.
Zach was a founding member of the Integrated Marketing Communications group at Kansas, and was an active member of the University Hillel organization. He also spent three months working and studying abroad in Italy through CIMBA and traveled to 16 countries. While he never took the court at the Phog for the Jayhawks, Zach currently owns the record for most Intramural Championships and won the Kickball World Championship in 2013 with his team from Chicago.
Currently, Zach works at Sprinklr in the role of Senior Manager, Advertising. Zach manages a team that helps some of the biggest brands in the world utilize Sprinklr to optimize their digital advertising capabilities. Prior to Sprinklr, Zach worked at GrubHub, Razorfish, Weber Shandwick and Sears Holdings Corporation. Brands that Wright has worked on include: GrubHub, Motorola Mobility,Kmart, Sears, ShopYourWay, Kraft, Nabisco, Nestle, PetArmor, Aldi and more.
His past work in community management has been featured on publications such as Buzzfeed and Mashable.
Nicole Spears is a social media specialist at Mindstream Interactive, a full-service digital agency. Nicole began her career in public relations with LaunchSquad in New York City, conducting media relations, thought leadership and content creation for a variety of tech and startup clients. She then transitioned to Geben Communications to work as a social media manager for a Fortune 50 brand. Now, she creates and implements social strategies for several national brands with a focus on creating cohesive customer experiences.
Nicole graduated from Ohio University, where she served as the Scripps PRSSA Chapter President in 2013-14. Throughout her college career, she spent summers interning with travel and tourism PR agency Express Conseil in Paris, France and tech PR agency LaunchSquad in San Francisco, CA.
