Why did you join Scripps PRSSA?
I joined PRSSA to network with both young and experienced professionals to gain powerful insights on the field of public relations, marketing and communications.
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I am most excited to lead a group of talented young professionals and to help them build a basis for a strong career. I love networking with other students and industry professionals, and I cannot wait to connect with everyone this year.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
I am currently serving as the Internal Communications Intern at Inspire Brands. Inspire Brands portfolio includes Arby’s, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’, Jimmy John’s, Sonic and Rusty Taco.
What is your favorite restaurant in Athens?
My favorite restaurant in Athen’s has to be El Tenampa. Best place ever!
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be in marketing or communications with a large food brand.
What is your current favorite song?
I’m currently loving “Borderline” by Tame Impala.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
Food! Whether it’s cooking, eating out with friends or exploring new places, you can always find me near the food.
Anything else you want to add?
To underclassmen, get involved! Don’t be afraid to reach out and introduce yourself to upperclassmen and professionals, especially Bobcats. We are all here to help each other.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I joined PRSSA to build connections within my major and learn more about PR and advertising. My favorite thing about PRSSA is the community it has given me at Ohio University.
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I’m so excited for our Chapter members to meet the speakers I schedule! I also can’t wait to plan events with the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee throughout the school year.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
I’m currently the project management intern at Marcus Thomas LLC and I’m a Scripps College Ambassador at Ohio University.
What is your favorite restaurant in Athens?
Courtside Pizza!
What is your dream job?
Having my own business.
What is your current favorite song?
My favorite song is “Sunflower” by Vampire Weekend.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
I love to hike, read, cook, write, and volunteer at the dog shelter.

Vice President OF Member Relations:
Allison young
Area of study: Communication Studies Major with a specialization in Organizational Communication, Advertising and Public Relations Minor, Social Media Certificate.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I initially joined PRSSA to create strong connections but overtime I have also learned how much knowledge and experience I can gain with being a part of the organization. My favorite part of the org is constantly being hands-on. We all have chances to show our own creativity and likeness through collaboration (AND everyone has built strong connections within)!
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I am super excited to reach out to incoming students at OU. I remember how intimidating it is coming to college and trying to find the best organization. I want to be able to share a welcoming and trusting environment that can be beneficial to students.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
I am currently working for a Slinkevents, which is an events company in Cincinnati. I handle a lot of the social media, but also work heavy on the development and planning of events, and then executing them.
What is your favorite restaurant/coffee shop in Athens?
El Tenampa and Brenen’s!
What is your dream job?
Sports PR for an NFL or large sports team.
What is your current favorite movie?
Everything Everywhere All At Once.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
I love to explore various restaurants locally or through my travels. I love to travel (one day I’ll make it to Greece!), and one of my favorite things to do is watch movies.

Alyssa Goodenow
Area of study: Journalism Strategic Communication Major, Social Media Certificate.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I originally joined PRSSA because Dr. D recommended it! I was applying to be accepted into the school of journalism, and I wanted to get as involved with the j-school as possible. My favorite thing about the org is how organized and dedicated we are. I’m really proud to say I’m a member of Scripps PRSSA because we have achieved amazing things.
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I’m most excited to host fundraisers! I’ve never organized one before and I think it’ll be a great learning experience for me. I also love that I get to be creative with it.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
I’ve been a (remote) PR Intern for Jane Owen PR, which is based in Hollywood, since March. This is my first internship and I have had a great experience so far. Even through personal matters, everyone on the team has been tremendously understanding and accommodating. I also am the Social Media Manager for a literary journal also based out of CA, called Words & Whispers Literary Journal! I am very happy with my positions and love that they are a bit out-of-the-box! 🙂
What is your favorite restaurant/coffee shop in Athens?
My favorite restaurant in Athens is probably Broney’s and my favorite coffee shop is Donkey!
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to work on the communications team for Naughty Dog, one of my favorite video game companies!
What is your current favorite song?
For some reason, I’m currently obsessed with 2010’s pop music that I’ve previously forgotten about.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
Reading, writing poetry, making art, cats, learning info about random niche topics, and spending quality time with my closest friends are all things I enjoy.

Vice president Of External Relations:
anna hinkle
Area of study: Marketing Major with specializations in Digital Marketing and Graphic Design for larger company.
Year: Sophomore.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I joined Scripps PRSSA after I transferred into the Business College at OHIO because of the opportunities I began researching through the website. Once I became a member, I was welcomed with open arms by the existing Chapter and connected with so many wonderful people, who truly work as a team with one another. My favorite thing about Scripps PRSSA is how much my PR and communication skills have broadened. I have truly learned an immense amount of networking that would not nearly be as stressed to me in the classroom. My connections to my peers as well as larger businesses have entirely set me up for success for my future.
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
For my position, I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities I will discover to provide for the members of my Chapter. I want only the best of everyone in the Chapter and that includes experiences upon graduation, or internships I may be able to point out.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
One of my recent internships I have been grateful to have is a Marketing Internship at the Natural Stone Institute during the Summer of 2022. There, I acquired skills in communication, graphic design, and how to really plan and organize extensive events such as stone summits. I also gained experience working at a non-profit as a team in the workplace, which is totally new territory to me. I am thankful for this opportunity to really get my foot in the door and advance in this environment.
What is your favorite coffee shop in Athens?
My favorite coffee shop in Athens would have to be Brenen’s 100%. I absolutely LOVE the chai lattes there and could probably drink one every day if I am being honest. When I am away I miss the town overall, seeing my friends on an everyday basis, and the several deer roaming the campus daily. OHIO is such a beautiful, second hOUme.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to work for a larger marketing corporation close to the Cleveland area, such as Marcus Thomas LLC, RevLocal, or Handshake Digital.
What is your current favorite song?
My favorite song is “Only Wanna Be With You” cover by Post Malone, who is one of my favorite artists!
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
Some of my favorite hobbies are drawing and painting, going to the gym, walking my dog at the metroparks, listening to music, and traveling around Cleveland!
Anything else you want to add?
I am extremely grateful to be apart of the wonderful Chapter I hold deep in my heart of Scripps PRSSA. The ladies on the Executive Board with me for the 2022-2023 year have been so welcoming to me as an incoming Freshman and will help me grow as I blossom into my sophomore year and so forth!

Vice President Of public Relations:
Maxwell Burton
Area of study: Journalism – Strategic Communication Major, Marketing Minor.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I joined PRSSA as a way to expand my horizons and learn more about the PR profession. Each meeting allows me to explore different careers and forge my own passion for PR and advertising. Asking questions to current professionals allows me to further understand the industry and each job. My favorite part about the organization is the diverse set of speakers. No two meetings are the same. No two jobs are the same.
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
As VP of PR, I am excited to explore the different facets of PR. I am excited to reside as the Editor-in-Chief of PR Success as well as our blog. Being named VP of PR during the spring semester allowed me to see the wonderful work the current executive board was doing from an outside point of view. I am ecstatic to join this amazing team and continue this star chapter.
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
Currently, I work as a Scripps Ambassador for Scripps College of Communication. One of the teams I reside on is the social media team. I write copy for social media posts, contemplate ideas and even write full-length articles for OHIO News.
What is your favorite restaurant in Athens?
Little Fish Brewing Co. is my favorite restaurant in Athens. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I believe the fresh ingredients, flavors, quantity and quality of food blow the competition out of the water. For coffee, Donkey has the best ambiance and drinks in Athens. You can never go wrong with a spiced chai from Donkey.
What is your dream job?
My current dream job is to work as an advertising or PR specialist in the sustainability field. I would like to work with either a non-profit or with a large corporation on its sustainability efforts.
What is your current favorite song?
My current favorite song is “Evergreen” by Omar Apollo.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
I have a passion for food. Cooking, writing and critiquing food are all hobbies of mine. I also love going to the gym, playing saxophone, hiking, traveling and watching movies.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA, and what is your favorite thing about the organization?
I joined Scripps PRSSA because of the wonderful things I had heard about the organization! I knew that I would gain real-world experience in public relations and make connections that would last a lifetime! My favorite thing about the organization is the friends I’ve been able to make. The memories I’ve created with them will last a lifetime. It’s something I’m forever grateful for!
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
Through my position on the executive board, I’m most excited to be able to post all our greatest moments through social media and be able to look back on an incredible year full of amazing memories!
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
Last semester, I worked as a social media content creator for the Ohio University School of Media Arts and Studies and as a social media content creator/reporter for OHIO Athletics. This summer I am working as a corporate sales intern at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
What is your favorite restaurant/coffee shop in Athens?
My favorite restaurant in Athens is Hangover Easy and my favorite coffee shop is Court Street Coffee.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to work as a Public Relations Manager or a Social Media Manager in NASCAR.
What is your current favorite movie?
My favorite movie is The Sandlot, she’s an oldie but a goodie!
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
Some of my hobbies and passions include traveling, boating, shopping, and dining at any Italian restaurant… Please let me know if you have restaurant suggestions!

I joined Scripps PRSSA because I wanted to learn more about what my interests are and what I am passionate about. Also, to gain professional opportunities and build lifelong friendships!
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I am most excited for my position as VP of Social Affairs because I get to create events that are super welcoming for members that bring everyone closer together! 🙂
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
This summer, I have an internship with a small business called WoofPack Trails. I am the social media intern, so I create a social calendar for each week for the social media accounts and engage with other accounts.

What is your dream job?
My dream job would be in a company culture and industry that is welcoming and is the best fit for me!

Some of my favorite hobbies are listening to music, online shopping, spending time with my friends and family, and playing outside with my two puppies, Maple, and Ruby.

Why did you join Scripps PRSSA?
I joined Scripps PRSSA in my sophomore because I wanted to gain personal skills and professional connections within the PR industry. Throughout the years, I have been surrounded by people who share a similar passion and I am grateful for the amazing group of people involved!
What are you most excited for as a member of the executive board?
I’m excited to expand my creative side to see what I can create to show off our Outstanding Chapter. I also can’t wait to work closely with our awesome executive board!
What are some of your recent internships/job experiences?
I was a previous Marketing and PR intern at Krupp Kommunications where I learned more about the professional world of public relations. I got to work with some amazing people and clients that I will cherish as I continue on my career path.
What is your favorite restaurant/coffee shop in Athens?
I can sit and do homework at Donkey for hours. It is the best coffee shop to relax with some friends or get a bunch of work done. I also always find myself getting Ginger more than anything else. If you haven’t had their crab rangoons, you need to try them!
What is your dream job?
I don’t know if I have a dream job at the moment. Wherever I am or whatever I am doing in the near future, I just hope I am happy in the position I am in.

My current favorite songs are “Beige” by Yoke Lore and “Satellite” by Harry Styles.
What are some of your hobbies/passions/favorite things?
My favorite thing recently is walking. I love going on long walks. I look forward to it every day. It is a time for me to collect my thoughts and enjoy time on my own.
