March 4 — Internship PANEL

Scripps PRSSA hosted an internship panel on March 4, 2024. The chapter welcomed four panelists: Allison Young, Avery Ochs, Margaret Fox and Isabel Mattern. 

Allison, the Scripps PRSSA chapter president, is a senior majoring in communication studies, minoring in advertising & public relations and pursuing a social media certificate. Allison has been an intern on the Commercial Insights & Loyalty (CIL) Marketing team at 84.51° since May 2023. 84.51° is Kroger’s retail data science, insights and media company. As part of the CIL Marketing team, she supports a wide variety of key initiatives such as public relations, project managing campaign/thought leadership projects, promotional materials and demand gen/email marketing for 84.51°’s Insights & Loyalty business unit. 

Avery, the vice president of external relations, is a junior graduating in December. She is majoring in journalism strategic communications and pursuing a minor in marketing and social media certificate. Avery was the PR and Marketing Intern for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera (CLO), a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form. Her primary responsibilities included managing CLO’s social media and organizing events to promote CLO’s 2023 Summer of Musicals.


Margaret, the vice president of finance, is a senior studying journalism strategic communications with a minor in business analytics. She was the Marketing and Communications intern with the Academic Marketing team for Siemens Digital Industries Software. Siemens DISW provides engineering software to customers around the world to improve engineering processes. Her primary responsibilities this summer were writing for the Academic Marketing blog, conducting research and creating brand assets.


Isabel, the vice president of social affairs, is a junior studying journalism with a focus in strategic communication, minoring in marketing and pursuing a social media certificate. She was the Digital Marketing Intern for OneCom Media and Marketing last summer. OneCom Media and Marketing is an award-winning, full service digital marketing agency in Cincinnati. They specialized in SEO and Google My Business for local businesses struggling to get traction on their websites.
