Meet the 2012-2013 CEO of ImPRessions

ImageName: Heather Bartman

Year: Senior

PRSSA Position: CEO of ImPRessions

Hometown: Mansfield, OH

Major: Strategic Communications/PR

Why you wanted to be on the executive board: I absolutely love the learning

experience of PRSSA, and I am very ready for this leadership role. I have a lot of great ideas for the future of our chapter. Being able to be around so many people (not just exec board, but the entire chapter) who have the same passions and values as me is so inspiring.

How PRSSA has helped you: PRSSA has helped me grow professionally and personally. I’ve learned so much from professionals and peers that I would never learn in a classroom.

Why you chose to attend OU: SCRIPPS! I knew I wanted to write when I came to college, so I visited OU and Scripps. Hearing such dedication from students and faculty – not to mention the beautiful campus! – I knew this was the place for me.

PR experience: I have had three internships and am working on my fourth in NYC! I’ve also been very involved with PRSSA and ImPRessions, and have worked in different PR roles in my honor fraternity.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Try everything! Get involved. And make the absolute most out of your four years.

Interesting Fact: I have seven siblings.

Hobbies: Music, reading, eating, social media & spending time with friends and family

Favorite OU memory: Chicago PRSSA trip!

Where you see yourself in 10 years: In 10 years, I’d like to be settling down. I hope to have had a nice career in agency PR in a medium to large sized city, and be transitioning into a corporate PR role. I will be married and getting ready to start my family! Ideally… but I’m up for whatever happens!
